About Pregnancy: There is no way to avoid putting on weight while you are pregnant. Though additional weight is inevitable, there are things you can do to make losing those pounds later on a bit easier. This article can help you learn how to stay fit throughout your pregnancy.

All tips About Pregnancy:

Use a cold-water bath for swollen feet. One highly common symptom of pregnancy is swollen feet and ankles, especially in the heat. A cold water bath can reduce the blood flow to your feet, which in turn will reduce the inflammation. It also cools you down and gives you an excuse to be off your feet for a few minutes.

Don't stop using a seat belt in your car while driving or riding as a passenger. The danger to your baby from the seat belt is much less than the danger from you being loose in the car in the event of a crash. Make sure the belt is as low on your hips as possible, preferably underneath your belly.

Before you get pregnant you should read a book about pregnancy. This way you will know what to expect during pregnancy. Pregnancy books can also teach you many different things you may not have known about being pregnant. You will learn new things along with terminology about pregnancy.

Avoid alcohol when trying to conceive or if you are already pregnant. Alcohol can cause you and your baby to have serious health problems. When trying to conceive, alcohol decreases sperm count and makes getting pregnant more difficult. Even drinks like wine are unhealthy for pregnant women or those trying to conceive.

Avoid any chemicals that could harm your baby. Many cleaning products have a strong smell and can be found in your home, your work and anywhere else you go. When you breath in these fumes, they can harm your child. Use products that are only made out of natural ingredients.

A good thing to do when pregnant is to see your practitioner on a regular basis. This will not only help you in knowing about the things that pregnant people should know but it also will help you in knowing how to have a healthy pregnancy. This act can help in having a very smooth pregnancy.

Make sure you stretch your legs before sleeping to keep cramps at bay. There are few pregnant women who cannot recount a night spent waking up with knots in their legs. Doing some leg stretches before bed will help your muscles to loosen and keep leg cramps at bay.

Keep yourself well hydrated. Your body takes on pounds of extra weight in the form of fluids and blood. You need to give your body what it needs to produce these things. What your body needs is water. Keep a water bottle with you everywhere you go and just refill it during the day.

If the stresses of life get to you while you are pregnant, indulge in a relaxing prenatal massage. Many therapists are trained to provide massages to pregnant women and know which areas to avoid, as well as, which areas might need the most attention. A massage makes a lovely gift to yourself as your due date draws closer.

When you are pregnant, it is best to avoid or limit your caffeine intake. You can still have one cup of coffee in the morning, but no more than that. Try drinking decaff or half-caff if you can. Any caffeine that you drink will go straight to your baby and may have negative effects.

Eat breakfast every day when you are pregnant and make it a healthy one. If you skip meals you can end up feeling light headed before lunch time. Your baby doesn't go 12 hours without eating after they are born, don't make them go that long while they are still in your tummy.

Call your doctor immediately if you experience unusual or troubling symptoms. Your doctor is there to help you; do not be afraid to contact her if you think you might need assistance. If you experience pain, cramping, contractions or shortness of breath, call immediately to ensure that both you and the baby are doing well.

Maternity clothing is important to a mother's comfort. Many women try to stay in their regular clothes as long as possible because they are too embarrassed to buy "pregnancy clothes." You'll be a more comfortable and confident mother-to-be if you choose to wear clothes that are specifically made for your body's new shape.

If you have decided how to have your baby, maybe natural childbirth, or caesarian section, you should write a birth plan. The birth plan will detail all of your expectations for delivery and should be shared with your doctors. Having this plan will calm your anxiety as your delivery date approaches.

One way to help to get rid of the back pain that sometimes occurs in late pregnancy is to practice pelvic tilts. Continuing to exercise in this way will not only help with the pain, it may also move your baby into a good birth position at the same time.

Shortness of breath is common as women progress in their pregnancy. The baby grows and compresses the diaphragm, so there is less room to breathe. To help with this do some pelvic tilts and light stretching. Also, sleeping sitting up works well for some women as it relieves some of the pressure and allows them to breathe more freely.

About Pregnancy blog: Avoid going to the store when you are hungry. During pregnancy, it is common for you to crave unhealthy foods. Surrogacy Hormonal Issues

Surrogacy procedure in India

Surrogacy is a prolonged, careful and highly expensive in nature .The decision taking might be initiated for parents or couple if they are aware that , there is no more chance to get pregnant, or when they come for check up about infertility the doctors might rule out the cause and let them know the fact that surrogacy is the final measure that suits them.

In any case, surrogacy and surrogate related procedures requires two parties, number one is the potential couple who needs a pregnancy and the number two is the voluntary or paid donor or who is in general called as surrogate mother but most importantly the agencies or surrogacy clinics as they work as mediators between these two parties to come to a conclusion and have a successful pregnancy at the end.

Surrogacy is a continuous and step by step procedure where potential couples to be matched with the surrogate according to the required demands or characteristics explained from couple. All they need is a healthy surrogate mother with normal bodily functions, no sort of serious illnesses, mentally stable and it is also significant to collect the background and familial details of surrogate because it helps to rule out the exclusion of certain demands kept apart from the potential couple.

It is important for both the parties to sign a consent letter that is legally bound with certain norms and regulations written in it. Things like non disclosure, rights after delivery of the baby, payment schedule from the couple etc can be clearly explained through this legal letter and most important is to have a certified lawyer for all such things. Once the legal formalities get finished then it is the role of clinic and fertility experts to deal with the issue from beginning till the delivery of the healthy baby.

In case of female partner that is unable to generate eggs, then the surrogate eggs are extracted in a stable environment and these are combined with the intended father's sperm in laboratory, and again transferred into the uterus of the surrogate who signed the contract that carries child until the delivery who is also known as traditional surrogacy or a surrogate who is biologically closure to the who is going to born.

In some cases where female partner fails to conceive to its full term, even when she is able to produce eggs, in such a scenario the ovum and sperm both are collected from the couple and combined together to create a unique embryos and then these are transferred into the surrogate uterus for further growth, known as gestational surrogacy (surrogate is not biologically related).

In rare occasions both mother's and father's intended eggs or sperms are used to achieve the pregnancy one or both can be obtained from a donor. In this intended parents are not biologically related to the child, unless when the intended father's sperm is used to conceive pregnancy. All these procedure include surrogacy laws, which needs to be clear before going through any treatment procedure.

Once the embryo is transferred then the next step is monitoring through out the cycle, hormonal treatment to nourish the embryo in some cases, periodic screening of intra uterine changes, growth and developmental screening of new embryo and counseling the parents etc need to be strictly done,.

How to Be Happy and Healthy During Pregnancy

There is simply nothing which can outcast the joy and happiness of hearing the news that you are pregnant. There mere thought of the little baby being developed in your womb is enough to bring tears of joy. You do not become a mother when you give birth to the baby; motherhood actually starts from the day when your life is blessed with a lovely angel, though it will take time for him or her to enter the world. This is why it is important that you start taking care and precautions from the day you get to know about your pregnancy.

Although you would not feel any sudden change in your body, the baby's growth is in a delicate stage and you need to make sure that you do not do anything that can affect the development of the child. Here are a few common things you must do in order to facilitate the growth of your baby and ensure your health during pregnancy.

Healthy Diet

We all know about this, but sadly, not every mother to be follows this point. Change your eating habits the day you know that you are pregnant. Many mothers switch to healthy diet when they plan to have a baby itself. Increase the intake of necessary nutrients and vitamins as you will need them more than usual. The rise in nutritional intake ensures that the baby is getting all the required supplements for its growth. If you smoke or drink, it is better to stop such activities until the baby is born. Strictly prohibit the consumption of any type of illegal drugs as these are known to have negative impact on the growth of the foetus. Or take this motherhood as a golden chance to transform your life by quitting unhealthy activities like smoking and drinking altogether.

Do not consume raw meat or prefer no meat at all and try going vegetarian for these few months. Although many support meat consumption as it has a lot of proteins, consuming meat actually causes many problems to the health of the baby. You can even have a diet chart prepared with the help of your doctor to ensure you eat only the food which can help your baby get stronger and healthier.

Minimal Stress

Or better, do not take stress at all! The starting few weeks of pregnancy can be easy, but as the time passes by, you will undergo a number of physical changes and emotional turmoil which will add to depression if you take stress in daily life. Try to be as happy as you can and avoid any kind of stressful activities. Read motivational books, classic authors and listen to songs which make you happy. Remember, the baby is not only connected to you physically, but since he or she is in your womb, every emotion of yours has a direct impact on the brain of the3 child. So, if you are happy, the baby is happy as well.

Take maternal leave from work when you are not able to attend office or when your doctor suggests you to take rest. You can go on a vacation and enjoy the feeling of motherhood in the lap of nature. Spend quality time with your husband and family and prepare for welcoming the angel in your world.

To avoid nighttime heartburn while pregnant, eat your last meal at least two hours before you go to bed. Reclining just after eating will lead to increased acid reflux and heartburn. Also, use extra pillows to elevate your head and upper back above the level of your abdomen to reduce symptoms.

Add 300-500 calories a day to your diet while you are pregnant. Don't forget you are eating for two so you definitely need to increase your caloric intake. Make sure however that you are adding healthy calories into your diet. Adding 500 calories of junk food isn't going to do anything to help you and the baby.

If you have never had a baby before, find women you can talk to about the experience. Most moms are more than happy to give you all the little details of their birth experience. This will help to answer your questions and gain a better understanding of the process.

About Pregnancy tips: During the course of your pregnancy, you need to remove all caffeine from your diet. Caffeine can interfere with your ability to get the restful sleep that is essential to stay healthy. Consider crackers as a daytime snack if nausea bothers you. Proper dieting can help correct your sleeping pattern.

When preparing for sleep while pregnant, set up a bedtime routine. Include activities that will relax you. Some relaxing activities are, drinking warm milk, reading a book or having a warm shower. When you are relaxed, it will be easier for you to fall asleep. Be sure that you have your routine set up so that you allow yourself enough time for sleep.

When pregnant, avoid drinking excessively before you go to sleep. It is important to drink enough fluids during the day to keep you hydrated. However, you should stop drinking about two hours before going to sleep. This will help you avoid frequent trips to the bathroom when you should be sleeping.

Write out your birth plan and make sure your doctor and labor coach have a copy. List out what type of medications you are willing to have and in what circumstances you want to move to different laboring methods. Of course, your birth plan is only a plan and if things need to change for the safety of your labor, don't worry and just go with it.

Get the film and cameras ready ahead of time and get them packed in the bag. It is one of those things that everyone tends to forget and regrets later when things get started in a rush. If you have it ready in your birthing bag you'll be able to capture those newborn pictures.

Keep extra deodorant around wherever you go. Pregnant women sweat. Trust me it's not just glow, it is sweat. Stay dry and smelling fresh with deodorant. Consider looking into getting a few little portable fans to help stay dry and sweat free as much as possible.

Stay active while you are pregnant. Unless your doctor puts you on bed rest, of course. Staying active will ensure that you do not gain too much weight during your pregnancy and also keeps your muscles from atrophying. If you stay active during your pregnancy, recovery will be much easier.

Find out if your dental insurance covers extra cleanings and checkups during pregnancy, and pay close attention to your oral health in general. You are at a higher risk for gingivitis while pregnant, and many insurers will pay for more frequent visits to the dentist during this time. Brush and floss carefully and thoroughly to keep your teeth healthy.

When you are pregnant, you need to learn as much as you can about what to expect while you are pregnant and what things you can do to insure a healthy delivery. Many women just look at the information that is provided to them by their doctors. There is a lot of information that is available online and it is typically very easy to find.

Consult your physician before you try to conceive. Go see your doctor to make sure you are healthy enough to have a a baby. Your doctor can also make recommendations for lifestyle changes that can help you conceive.

Signs of pregnancy: If you have just discovered that you are pregnant, you will have to decide when to tell others. This decision is very personal and will be different for each person. One person will tell everybody on earth before her pregnancy test even turns positive. Another woman may be superstitious, and prefer to wait until she feels her pregnancy is far enough along that she doesn't feel any problems will arise. Do what feels right to you.

Check with your doctor! If you feel that you are a bit lightheaded during the beginning stages of your pregnancy, you could have low blood pressure. This could be especially true if you have low blood pressure when you are not pregnant. You can have a bit of a caffeinated beverage to help increase your blood pressure - if you know for sure - it is your blood pressure!

Wait until after your baby is born to get those new glasses or contacts. Pregnancy can change vision in ways that will probably resolve after the baby is born. No one wants to purchase expensive eye wear that will have to be replaced in a few months!

Wherever you will be birthing your baby, it's a good idea to request a tour of the facility. This is very important if you have never given birth before since you might not know a lot about birthing centers. You need to be familiar with the facility, so you can easily navigate it during your stay.

If you are a smoker, now is the time to quit. Many programs are around to help you do this. Smoking can lead to having a premature baby. It can also cause your baby to be underweight. Babies need to start out with a strong start, in order to be prepared to handle this world.

For pregnant women, make sure that you stretch your legs, before going to sleep every night. This is because many pregnant women get intense muscle cramps while they are sleeping, which could be easily prevented, if they stretch. Spend about 5 minutes flexing all of your muscles, before even climbing into bed.

A pregnant mother should at all costs avoid any sort of drugs, whether they are alcohol, nicotine, or heavier drugs such as heroin. Your baby can and will develop a chemical dependency in the womb. This also is not to mention the possibility for birth defects. If you're an expecting mom, stay away from drugs!

Pregnant women want to do everything they can to keep their newborn baby safe. Taking folic acid is very important for a baby's development and should be taken especially during the first trimester. Folic acid ensures proper brain and spinal cord formation. The recommended dose for pregnant women is a thousand micrograms each day.

Sign up for a child birthing class early on in your pregnancy so that you can ensure that you get the dates that work for you and your labor coach. Your baby won't adhere to your schedule, so you'll want to take the classes as soon as possible.

Call your doctor for anything that seems "off". You know your body better than anyone and if something doesn't feel right, then use that intuition and give your practitioner a call. They will decide if it's something they need to check out or not, but don't hesitate to seek help.

Lots of foods have been fortified with folic acid so keep an eye out for those on your shopping trips. Also make sure that your prenatal vitamins include folic acid.

Before you begin trying to conceive a baby, visit your doctor and check to be sure your vaccinations are updated. In particular, you want to make sure that you have the rubella and varicella vaccines. Exposure to these two diseases could be detrimental to your pregnancy if you haven't already been protected.

It is important to stay active while pregnant. Walking is a wonderful way to get exercise, it will tone your muscles and build endurance. Walking three times a week, thirty minutes a day is a good routine to get into. It is crucial to not push yourself too hard while exercising, though.

The most important thing to do during pregnancy is to look after yourself. If your body says it is tired, then sleep if you can. There is no point trying to maintain high standards of home tidiness if you are going to be exhausted for nine months and not enjoying the pregnancy. Remember to give yourself a break and take as much time out for yourself as needed.

If you have sex during a pregnancy, you should use a condom. Of course, you cannot get pregnant because you already are, but you can get a urinary tract or yeast infection, which can cause an array of problem, including itching and burning during urination. You will then have to be treated with an antibiotic.

When you are pregnant, you will want to let someone else clean out your precious cat's litter box. This is because there is a parasite in cat feces that causes toxoplasmosis. This parasite is also found in rare or raw meat. This can lead to serious illness, miscarriage, premature birth or even worse. So cook your meat well, and let your loved one clean the litter box.

If cancer treatment is here can fertility be far behind?

Ever since cancer treatments have become increasingly effective, fertility issues have gained prominence. Those children who survived childhood affliction grew to adulthood and nursed hopes of having their own child.

Ovaries and testes of young patients are more resilient than they were thought to be. Researchers have proved that as many as two-thirds of female childhood cancer survivors, with fertility treatment in adulthood, conceived successfully. Cancer treatments in young males result in low sperm count or damaged sperms. Chemotherapy kills both the cancer cells as well as healthy ones including sperms. Radiation near testicles can cause infertility. In women cancer treatment can speed up menopause. Chemotherapy can damage the eggs. As women are born with the total number of eggs for lifetime, damaged eggs cannot be replaced.

However, being a cancer survivor should be a factor but not the deciding factor regarding decision on having a child. It is very important to discuss with the patients the impact cancer treatment would have on the reproductive system. During treatment, shields are placed over testicles to reduce the damage to fertility in men. In women, in alternative stimulation method, only eggs that mature naturally during menstrual cycles are retrieved. Early Pregnancy Failure

One of the most common causes of losing a baby early in a pregnancy - early miscarriage - is blighted ovum or anembryonic gestation.

Basically this is said to have happened when a fertilised egg implants as it should in the uterus, but for some reason stops developing further.

Some women are unaware this is happening and presume their pregnancy is developing as normal, and a scan around the 12 week mark will often, sadly, be the time they discover the truth.

Most women who suffer an early pregnancy failure of this type will have a positive pregnancy test result in the first few weeks of conception as the usual pregnancy hormones will be secreted. She may also experience many of the early pregnancy symptoms - sore breasts, increased urination, tiredness, even nausea.

However when the embryo fails to develop these pregnancy hormones subside and she may experience some spotting or bleeding - but not always of a quantity to be noticeable. Some woman may have cramps.

Others just "know" there is something not quite right. Maybe they simply don't "feel" pregnant any more. Maybe they can tell they have not grown at all for several weeks. If a woman suspects there is something not right with her pregnancy she should see her GP and arrange an early scan. This will confirm if there is indeed an empty gestational sac.

Most women will then naturally miscarry, that is they will expel the gestational sac and accumulated tissue, usually by the end of the first trimester (sometimes earlier).

But if a woman is too upset, or too uncomfortable to wait for this to occur naturally, a GP can prescribe medication to speed up the elimination process or they may recommend a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure to remove remaining tissues.

It is generally considered safe for the woman to get pregnant again straight away, although most women prefer to have one natural menstrual period before trying to conceive (which usually happens four to six weeks after the miscarriage). A barrier method of contraception such as a condom should be used if the woman wants to delay pregnancy.

Some studies have shown that it is better to get pregnant again sooner rather than later. Statistically women who get pregnant within six months of having a miscarriage increase their odds of having a healthy pregnancy and have fewer miscarriages or ectopic pregnancies than women who wait six to 12 months after miscarriage.

But the woman must do what feels right for her. Losing a baby at any stage is heartbreaking and only she will know when she is physically - and mentally - ready to go through the emotions of pregnancy again.

10 Useful Tips for Travel During Pregnancy

The start of pregnancy brings with itself a number of restrictions and limitations. Being a mother to be, it is advised that a pregnant woman must stay away from noisy environment and avoid stress as much as possible. The physical and emotional changes in the body are difficult to cope up with and women find a way out by going on vacations or visiting their friends and family for a getaway.

But travel during pregnancy period requires an extra attention and caution as any small mistake can affect the development of the child inside you. Here are a few tips you can and must follow to have a happy and comfortable travelling with a growing baby in your body.

Consult your doctor and confirm whether you are fit to fly or travel via road before you plan any trip. Although vacations during the second trimester do not generally have any negative effects, in some cases exertion or exposure can be harmful.

Avoid visiting places which have high disease risk, especially malaria prone countries. The body of both mother and child is sensitive and any small disease can get severe due to low immunity.

Keep a copy of all your medical records and test reports with you on the trip, so that you can consult any doctor in the area if you ever feel uneasy or ill.

Take all your medication and necessary items in a handy bag. This is especially essential in case you plan on travelling via air as the medicines would not be easily available.

Your body needs a lot of food and water to keep you and the baby hydrated and energetic. So pack a lot of healthy snacks and pure water with you on the trip.

Wear comfortable clothes and keep extra layers handy as it will not be always possible to take out clothes to suit the changing temperature.

Avoid long hours of sitting and take stretch brakes at least once in an hour. Stop the car and walk a few steps on the road after every few miles to avoid fatigue. If you are flying, take a walk to the washroom twice in an hour.

Whether in plane or car, it is important that you fasten the seat belt properly. The lower strap must be fastened below your belly, crossing your hip bones and the chest strap should not cross over the belly as any sudden jerk can hurt the baby inside the womb.

If you travel via road, do not drive the vehicle for long time. Ask someone to escort you or join you in the trip.

Prefer taking only healthy vegetarian food and avoid meat and fish products. Raw food is prohibited during pregnancy.

Travelling during pregnancy not only provides an escape from the daily life, but also revitalises the parents as this period can be very exhausting. The second trimester is a perfect time to go out as the foetus is formed and the complex growth of body parts will be extensive in the third trimester, making it difficult to go out on road or air trips. So while you are enjoying the second trimester of your pregnancy, take some time out for a trip and enjoy the feeling of motherhood with the baby in your womb.

Eat Right for a Healthy Pregnancy

The three most critical factors of a healthy pregnancy are - diet, medical care and emotional happiness. It is difficult to put one of these factors over the other two. But you will agree that a balanced diet is probably the most critical factor. A mother's intake of food directly affects the growth and health of the baby. This is because the baby is totally dependent on the mother for her supply of nutrition. The quality of food the mother takes in will determine the baby's growth rate, the health of her new organs, her level of activity, her blood circulation, her weight, her immunity to any birth related disease and affect a host of other health related issues. So the pregnant mother is actually eating for two not for herself alone. There are some smart foods or super foods that one must eat during pregnancy.

These are those foods which are very good for the pregnant mother and the unborn baby. Also these foods are easily available anywhere in the world. Then there are some recommended dietary supplements which may be in shortfall from the diet and which are needed in abundance during the pregnancy. Besides these two, there are types of foods that need to be avoided. We discuss these three one by one.

The smart foods during pregnancy consist of - green leafy vegetables, whole grains, fruits, milk and milk products like yogurt, beans, eggs, nuts, meat and fish. Leafy vegetables are a good source of vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber. Two servings per day are required. Out of this one serving should be a leafy vegetable like spinach for supply of folic acid. The requirement of minerals and vitamins grow as the pregnancy progresses. Minerals and vitamins help in blood formation, build body resistance and hence prevent birth defects. Whole grains like pulses and beans provide proteins and fiber. These are also good sources of iron, zinc, folic acid and calcium. Calcium is required for building the bones. Fruits are also a good source of vitamins, folic acid, potassium and fiber. Fruits are good for digestion and help with morning sickness. Berries are especially good during pregnancies. Two or even three servings of dairy products are good for the mother and baby. These products can be milk, soft cheese, low fat yogurt and egg. Milk and egg are low cost sources of protein and calcium. Vegetarians can substitute eggs. They can take more of soybean, beans and nuts. Nuts are easy to carry. They are a nutritious snack in between meals. Meat intake, though good, should be restricted to one serving. Fish is a good source of omega-3 fatty acid which is good for the baby's eyes and brain. Raw fish and meat should be avoided to prevent any bacterial infection. A pregnant woman should drink a good quantity of water. Water, besides other things, helps in the transportation of nutrients to the baby.

There are some nutrients which are required in the higher portion during pregnancy. Most important among these are iron, folic acid, vitamins and calcium. Anemia (insufficient red blood cells) is a condition that needs to be avoided in a pregnant mother. Iron and folic acid help in the formation of blood and red blood cells. Vitamin C helps to increase the body's ability to absorb iron. Among fruits oranges is a good source of Vitamin C. Calcium makes the baby's bones and teeth strong.

The surrogate's own egg will be used, thus she will be the genetic mother of the resulting child and the couple for whom this process is taken care will be termed as Social parents. Whereas Gestational Surrogacy follows the process in which a surrogate mother is not hereditarily related to the child. Eggs are extracted from the intended mother or egg donor and mixed with sperm from the intended father or sperm donor in vitro. The embryos are then transferred into the surrogate's uterus. Embryos which are not used that may be frozen and then it will be used for transfer at a later time if the first transfer does not result in pregnancy.

However before going for this process, the infertile couple should adhered the legal guidelines and also take proper precautions which are highly recommended. Apart from this there are some ethical issues which can be elaborated as the surrogate mother should not be exploited and should be paid well for the ultimate service she provided and gave reason for smile to the infertile couple. What is Embryo Transfer and What Happens After an Embryo Transfer?

Embryo transfer is a simple procedure that follows invitro fertilization (IVF) and is often considered the simplest and final step of the in vitro fertilization process. The objective of embryo transfer is to facilitate conception following fertilization from the in vitro fertilization procedure.

Embryo transfer takes place after eggs have been collected and fertilised in the laboratory.Depending on your situation between one and three of the best quality embryos are selected and then transferred to the woman's womb.An embryo must successfully attach itself to the wall of the womb for pregnancy to begin.

What is the procedure for embryo transfer?

The patient returns to the clinic to have the embryos transferred. Anesthesiais often not necessary, although a sedative may be used. An ultrasound maybe used to help guide the physician as he transfers the embryos. A predetermined number of embryos are loaded into a fine transfer catheter that passes through the vagina and cervix, into the uterus. The embryos are deposited from the catheter into the uterus. Following this procedure, the patient usually remains in a recovery room resting on her back and is discharged 4-6 hours after the procedure. The couple will then wait and optimistically watch for early pregnancy symptoms.

What risks are there with embryo transfer?

Embryo Transfer is a painless process. There are no significant risks relating to the embryo transfer process itself. There are minimal risks associated with the embryo transfer procedure. The include the loss of the embryos during transfer or implanting the embryosin the wrong place such as the fallopian tubes. Although some women experience mild cramping, the procedure is usually painless.

Are there any instructions following the embryo transfer procedure?

Once embryos are transferred, there is nothing a patient can do to influence the outcome of her cycle. Currently, there is no documented evidence as to whether bed rest or continuing normal activities following the procedure make a difference in the outcome. Some physicians encourage the patients to rest for twenty four hours. Others suggest returning to normal activities as soon as possible. Some patients choose to rest because they think that by doing so they are improving their chances. Additional rest also gives them an opportunity to think about the potential baby. Other women elect to return to normal activities to help them avoid worrying about things that could go wrong. Together with counsel from the doctor, the state of your body and mind should help you decide your course of action.

Again, there is no documented evidence showing that physical activity hasany impact upon embryo implantation or conception. Conception is a naturalevent that depends primarily upon the genetic quality of the eggs.

How many embryos should be transferred?

What are my chances of getting pregnant after embryo transfer?

Female fertility diminishes with age, so if you are using your own eggs, on average, the younger you are, the higher your chances of success

Best IVF Success Rate after embryo transfer:

We are keen on telling the embryo transfer success rates that apply to you personally. There is no such thing as an 'average' patient, we would like to meet you, hear about your situation and give more exact information as to what we think your chances are.

The number of embryos that should be transferred during any single IVF cycle is subject to debate. Medical experts and writers seem to agree that transferring no more than four embryos per IVF cycle will yield optimal results. Transferring more than four is believed to result in excess numbers of multiple pregnancies leading to the increase of other complications.Transferring four embryos instead of only one or two increases the probability of pregnancy but with the risk that all four embryos could implant. After implantation, the next step is watching for the signs and symptoms of pregnancy.

The embryo transfer is the final medical step in an IVF treatment cycle. In one sense, this is the climax of the IVF medical treatment, because the embryos represent the end-product of the IVF laboratory. A good IVF clinic, working in sync with a good IVF lab will generate good quality embryos - but once these are transferred into the uterus, then the doctor's role comes to a screeching halt - and nature takes over !

No "bed rest" after embryo transfer

Putting the myth of bed rest after IVF to rest,Once the embryos have been transferred into the uterus, they are safe and cannot "fall out "

Enough medical studies have been done by many IVF clinics, which prove that embryo implantation and rest does not affect pregnancy rates. Embryos are safe and secure in the womb, and just because they have spent 48 hours in the incubator in the IVF lab does not change anything.

There are many myths about infertility that exists in the minds of people. With the advancement of medical science, these myths have been replaced by facts.Being infertile is bad enough - don't make it worse by forcing yourself to rest in bed when you don't need to!

Infections That May Affect Your Baby

There are certain infections which a pregnant woman may already have when she conceives, or may catch during pregnancy, which can affect her unborn baby. Here are some:

Rubella

Rubella (German measles) caught in the first four months of pregnancy can seriously affect an unborn baby's sight and hearing. In severe cases it can cause brain and heart abnormalities.

In the UK all children are vaccinated against rubella at 13 months old and again before starting school.

Your GP can check your immunity.

Sexually transmitted infections

You can have an STI and show no symptoms, but an STI can affect an unborn and newborn baby's health. If you have any doubts, about you or your partner, arrange for a confidential check-up with your GP or at a sexual health clinic.

HIV and AIDS

All pregnant women are offered an HIV test during antenatal check-ups. An HIV-positive woman in good health and without symptoms can have a normal pregnancy and it is possible to reduce the risk of transmitting HIV to a baby during pregnancy and after birth. However HIV-positive mothers can pass on the virus through breast milk.

Hepatitis B and C

Hepatitis B and hepatitis C are viruses infecting the liver.

Some people with hepatitis B have no symptoms, but they can be carriers and pass the infection by having unprotected sex or through their infected blood. Mothers can pass the infection on to their baby at birth.

A blood test to check for hepatitis B is offered to all pregnant women during antenatal care.

Babies who are considered at risk are given the hepatitis B vaccine at birth to prevent infection or liver disease in later life.

Although the associated risks are lower with hepatitis C a pregnant woman can pass it to her baby who will need specialist assessment and treatment if infected.

Herpes

Genital herpes can be caught through genital contact with an infected person or from oral sex with someone who has cold sores (oral herpes) and it can be very dangerous for an unborn baby.

If infection occurs in pregnancy, treatment is available. If it is only diagnosed during labour, a caesarean section may be carried out to avoid passing the infection to the baby during delivery.

Chickenpox

If you are pregnant, are not sure if you've had chickenpox and have come into contact with an infected child or adult tell your GP immediately. Chickenpox in pregnancy can be dangerous for both mother and baby.

Toxoplasmosis

Toxoplasmosis can be caught through contact with cat faeces and it can damage an unborn baby. Most of us catch it at some time and are then immune.

Group B streptococcus

This bacteria, carried by a third of the population, rarely causes symptoms. In women it's found in the intestine and vagina and in a small number of pregnancies it infects the baby, usually just before or during labour, leading to serious illness. Antibiotics can protect the baby from being infected.

Why People Choose Surrogacy in California

There have been services for surrogacy in California for a long time. This has helped many people to achieve the dream of parenthood and one of the best regarded reproductive services anywhere.

Reputation and quality

Because of the number of clinics within this state, California has a reputation for quality but also using cutting edge techniques to assist prospective parents. The licensing requirements and oversight here is also above and beyond many other areas of the world, so parents can expect the best result possible as well as safety. Many of the clinics here have been featured in clinical publications but also regular media such as magazines. Overall, clinics here enjoy a good reputation.

Methods for screening surrogate applicants

The clinics in this area have rigorous screening methods for all participants in the program. Surrogates have age limitations - usually between the ages of 20 to 30 but this can vary a little on each side of the numbers. One qualification that surrogates must be able to provide is documentation of have a previous, fairly trouble-free pregnancy that produced a live and healthy child.

Women that apply must undergo a range of different tests. Physical health is a must and the mother must be of an appropriate weight - neither under or very much over the recommended weight guidelines for her height and build. She will also be required to talk to a psychologist or psychiatrist prior to participating, as this is another important factor for her to have no mental health issues.

People may not realize this but in addition to adequate physical and emotional health, the surrogate also has to show support from her partner or husband and possibly other family members. Participants also have to demonstrate financial stability. Money cannot be the sole reason why they might participate in this kind of program.

Participation is more than being pregnant

Surrogate mothers don't just become pregnant to reappear when it is time to give birth. Many families and prospective parents will want to meet her prior to the event if possible. This doesn't happen with everyone but is something that people can choose to do if they want.

The other issue is that these participants will also need to maintain a healthy lifestyle while pregnant. This means eating nutritiously and being active to some extent. They will also agree to medical checkups on a regular basis and follow any recommendations given to them by the physician.

Cervical Cancer Screening in Kolkata Through Pap Smear

The medical term Colposcopy comprises of two basic terminologies Kolpos which means hollow womb or vagina and skopos which means to perceive at. Actually, this is a new reframed word which has been taken from the ancient Greek dictionary. The medical diagnostic technique which involves an examination of the lightened up and exaggerated view of the cervix and the vaginal tissues and that of the vulva. Through the scrutiny the surgeon ties to identify the radiant lesions and also the malicious lesions in the particular areas where they are located and visible too. The device which helps in the examination procedure is referred to as colposcope and it provides a better enlarged view of these areas. Usually the specialist person who conducts Colposcopy is known as Colposcopist. He has to minutely differentiate between the affected and the unaffected tissues and based on the results he can take the biopsy for further assessment. According to him, the procedure chiefly protects from cervical cancer by detecting the precancerous cells in the earlier stages and thus the treatment can begin thereafter. Initially, it was the German physician Hans Hinselmann who is said to develop this technique in the year 1925 along with the assistance of Helmut Wirths. Like Laparoscope, the colposcope too has a camera attached to it which helps in the proper scrutiny and evidence collection especially in the case of women who have been raped or sexually assaulted.

Some more reasons can be cited as to why a patient needs to go through Colposcopy in Kolkata. It can be any further assessment to detect the cytological abnormality on their pap smears. Others signs or signals for colposcopy includes examination of diethylstilbestrol (DES) in the uterus, to see whether the patient is affected by HIV virus infection or patients whose organ has been transplanted. To view the presence of an atypical cervix and to investigate whether the victim has been raped or not. As the patient is being scrutinized, her medical history is also examined side by side. It may involve the process of gravidity which means how many has she become pregnant and also parity meaning the number of babies she has delivered before. Through this process, they also want to know when she last menstrual period, the usage of contraceptive pills, was whether she is allergic to something, her past medications and if she is addicted to smoking. However in a few cases she might have to go through the pregnancy test which is usually conducted in advance. She has to answer to all the queries and also sign a consent form. The binocular microscope attached to the coloscope is available in three basic ranges which are used for different examination purposes. They are low medium and high.

The Cervical cancer basically originates from the cervix uteri. It is an evil neoplasm whose early signs indicate abnormal bleeding in the vagina. There may be some other symptoms as well which is visible only during the advanced stages of the cancer. The treatment includes surgery, chemotherapy and also radiotherapy. But as fare as Cervical Cancer Screening in Kolkata is concerned, it involves identification of precancerous cervical cells by using the Pap smear.
